Waiting Upon God II

When we have believed for God to deliver us, and we have waited for a long time, how do we know that we're about to receive an answer? For the person who has stood and not been shaken into doubt, God has a way of letting them know.

By faith, that person can see the answer. It's as though the answer is all around that person, and they know that they know. God has a way of letting us know that we can count on Him. That is one of the most important steps we learn as we walk with God.

We can never figure God out. Daniel Webster said, "If I might comprehend Jesus Christ, I could not believe on Him. He would be no greater than me. Such is my consciousness of sin and inability that I must have a superhuman Savior."

He is the great I AM. He is more powerful than anything in this universe. He loves us, but He also has a way of letting us know He is displeased with us. If we're not in tune with Him, we will know. Much like when we were children and did something we shouldn't have done.
I am so thankful that God forgives us and lets us try again. He doesn't want any of us to perish ever! His love is a love that can change a man or woman who has been so deep in sin that it seems there is no hope. Despite what they have done, with His love He reaches down, picks that person up, and sets their feet on the Rock, Jesus. He will lead them every step of the way.

It is not always easy, but it is possible. In taking every step to glory, there are times that it is rough climbing. But as we climb, He wants to be right there with us.

For ten years, I waited on God to do a work in my life. During that time, I learned much about God; things I would not have known had I not traveled the road I did. I wouldn't have been able to work with hurting people.

While I waited on God, there were several things that happened in my life that helped me:
• I learned how to hear from God as never before and how to wait upon Him.
• I knew that I needed to look at His Word to find out what He had to say to me.
• I learned how to stand on His Word, and that as I stood, He was going to answer.
• I discovered that I didn't know how to trust Him before. But now I could.
• It became easier for me to believe, and easier to act by faith.
• As I waited upon Him, I seemed to have more strength. I felt good about myself because I saw that I was growing deeper as a child of God.
• I learned from God.
• As I learned to receive my answer in His time, He taught me to rest and believe until I receive.

I had to walk every step. God didn't work it out so I wouldn't have to take that next step. Even though it might cause me a little pain, He was always there to let me know that I could do it. And though it wasn't easy, I did it.
