What is your mountain?
What is the first thing you do when you are faced with a mountain? Do you go to God first, or do you try to figure it out yourself?
Do you turn to God, fill your heart with His Word, and seek His will in order to be prepared?
His grace is always sufficient. He can help us in any area where we aren't prepared. But we must daily reach out to Him and get serious about serving Him.
He is concerned about all the things that happen to us. We're special to Him. How can He use us if we don't take advantage of what He has for us? I want my Heavenly Father to be pleased with me. Don't you? I long for Him to say to me, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things; enter thou into the joy of the Lord" (Matthew 25:21).
You may think you aren't special to anyone and that you never have been. That's where you're wrong. He came that we might have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10).We are often robbed because we don't take time to search out the scriptures for ourselves. God wants all of us to not only survive, but to thrive. This is more than possible with His help, but we must take that first step.
"Some of us die with music still in us." How true this little saying is. There is nothing more heartbreaking than a person who has no energy to reach that glorious finish line.
"But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him. But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved" Hebrews 10:38, 39).
If we rely on our own strength we will not have the energy to continue. If we lack faith in God, then we will shrink back. Let us rather trust and believe in Him; let us draw our strength from His Spirit.
